A Ballerina’s Daydream : Inspired Shoot

In October, after having to delay slightly because of weather and other important obstacles (such as having many real weddings to take care of throughout the year), we finally were able to bring our very first, very magical inspiration shoot to life.  For those that aren’t familiar, an inspiration shoot allows vendors to collaborate and show off their work while being truly free to run wild with their own imaginations. Don’t be fooled, just because there isn’t a real wedding or a need to get the bride down the aisle at a certain time, a ton of planning and timeline creation still has to be present to be successful. For us, piecing everything together did run a lot like our typical planning formula does.  Planning logistics, picking up dresses, picking up and arranging flowers, securing all rentals and then returning everything after the wrap up.  At the end of the exhausting day, as we packed everything up, it ALMOST felt as rewarding as it does when we kiss our brides and grooms good bye at the end of their wedding night. We are so insanely thankful to be able to say that you can check out this shoot over on the front page of Style Me Pretty  today! Thank you Caroline Frost Photography for capturing these incredible images. Merry Christmas Eve to us!

Our concept was founded on the word “graceful” and we immediately fell in love with the idea of having an actual ballerina be a part of it. We were so excited when the beautiful Breanne (a ballerina that Jamie used to dance with) and her handsome boy toy, Kodi, agreed to participate!  They were a dream and went along with the numerous outfit and location changes without flinching- even helped to remove some of our décor at the end just before it started to downpour.  Truly special people.

Of course, tulle was a major player as a textural component (used in their ceremony setup as well as dressing for their chairs) and we were loving the playfulness of the “ribbon wand” that we made her bouquet represent.  Our colors were soft and romantic with bold pops to spice things up.  Oh, and how could you not toss in the beauty of water color for something so delicate and romantic.  Jenny Sanders of Graceline Art is a genius.

Simone Francesca:: she is more precious than rubies

Hi Cheekies!

Better late than never! I have been meaning to write a personal post (or two) about my life events over the past year and thought today was the perfect day. Exactly one year ago, I found out that I was going to be a Mama. I will never forget that moment for as long as I live. I couldn’t believe it (and I honestly still don’t). My heart immediately felt something it has never felt before.. it was the very beginning of the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Happy one year in my heart, my precious baby girl.

Call me a proud mama if you wish, but I have been dying to show off some photos and share some details with you all! We have had quite a journey this past year and I finally have a minute to sit down and gush about it.

On July 9th, my entire world as I knew it changed in seconds. My husband and I welcomed our precious baby to this world and my heart physically hurts from how full it has been since then. I don’t know how it hasn’t exploded yet. My entire world in a teeny, tiny body. For years I listened as people explain this feeling and now here I am… feeling it times infinity. I am on a cloud that far surpasses #9.  To me she is perfect and because of her, so is my life.

Everything makes sense.. I totally get it now. I am head over heels in love with my girl and I get it. I understand the “mother” mindset. I understand every move my own mother has made over the course of my life. I understand every tear she shed, every smile and laugh, the pure joy, the constant worry, the trembling fear, the joy, the bliss, the overwhelming, unconditional, unexplainable, unspeakable LOVE.  Sometimes, I still don’t believe that Simone is mine. I always say that “I have the worst luck in the world,” but boy did she prove that theory wrong.  She completes me and makes me the absolute luckiest.

Is everything picture perfect in my world? Far from it.

I find myself being somewhat of a disaster area these days and ya know what? It’s okay.  I will get it all together soon. Saying I have been busy is a gross understatement, but I have been busy lately, guys. Very busy and I often can’t find the time to think, yet my brain hurts. My laundry is piled high, my daily hairstyle is the messy bun (not even on purpose), I haven’t sent out birth announcements or even finished my thank you cards to all of the amazing people who have showered us with the most generous and thoughtful gifts (I know, I know) and boy does this list go on. I’ll get there. I will slowly but surely knock things off the never-ending to-do list. For now, I just want to enjoy these moments because people aren’t kidding when they say “time flies.”

Funny enough, it was all of these feelings that inspired me to finally take some time, go through these photos and share some of them with you all.

So here it is.. my picture heavy journey.

First up: My pretty pink and gold baby shower soiree.

Love always,

Welcome!

Hi Guys!

It seems pretty foreign to actually be writing on our new and improved blog right now. It has been a long time coming! Isn’t she pretty a little thing?  It only makes sense that we make this a weekly thing and that is our plan. We truly want to share more with you.  We want you to know who we are, what we are working on and what crazy things we are getting into.  We also plan to offer a lot of opinions and thoughts (watch out). For two people who have a lot to say, it is hard to believe that we didn’t jump on this bandwagon sooner.

Down to business… the reason behind this blog post… OUR NEW WEBSITE!  If you haven’t already checked it out, head on over to read some more about us personally and what Cheeky has to offer!  It was designed by the lovely, talented and extremely patient Love Inspired. Thank you ladies so much!

As individuals and as a company, we have grown substantially over the last four years.  We are very proud of the path that Cheeky has paved and we work every day to keep building. When we first began this journey, we didn’t truly know what fired us up in the industry as far as our service offering.  However, we did know that we wanted to stand out, offer a unique experience to our couples and set forth our standard of beautiful.  It took us some time to figure out a brand that represented us best and yes, we did struggle with a few inner conflicts (ie: change in name, change in logo 3x, but who’s counting?).  However, we are very happy to be able to show the world what are made of via a website and blog that make our hearts happy; both that are  and will be filled with beautiful photos and stories of lovely Cheeky couples.

You will also see our new service offering which includes:

-Full Service Planning + Design

-Floral Design (Yes, you read that right.  See below.)

-Day Of Management (led by our team of talented Cheeky ladies who you just have to meet!)

We started offering floral design about fifteen months and five days ago (BIG shoutout to our first floral baby bride, Kat, who believed in us and let us put together her wedding tablescapes). We did our research; we have also attended many classes & workshops to expand our education in flower land. Really guys, we are ALWAYS looking for new things to learn and do not plan to stop anytime soon.

Since we never really made an official announcement and it has been quite some time, you may have put things together on your own (from our Instagram and Facebook posts). We only offer floral design to our full service (planning + design) clients because for us, it just makes sense to be able to execute our concept all the way through.  It allows us to truly be creative and ensure the aesthetic flows from start to finish.

Below you will find some of our work from the current wedding season. We really hope that you come visit us again because we have lots more to share!

XOXO

Heather + Jamie
